Heavy Equipment Operator Training in New York

February 20, 2013

Heavy equipment operators in New York need to be certified in order to find a job. In addition, today employers look for operators who have a considerable amount of equipment operation hours, experience with machine maintenance, and understanding how how to use a GPS and follow satellite coordinates. These skills will help you become more specialized and should help your resume rise to the top of the pile.

Finding the right heavy machine training program depends on the following factors:

  • Your age
  • Level of any past experience
  • And budget

You will then need to weigh the pros and cons of learning from a college or university, union apprenticeship, or a company that offers equipment training at their facility.
