The New Castle County Vo-Tec school has an adult education section that allows students to increase their knowledge in the heavy equipment field and the construction industry in general. The classroom portion of the curriculum is fulfilled two nights during the week, while hands-on training is performed on weekends as scheduled by the instructor.These classes teach introductory skills to enrollees in the hopes that their increased knowledge can help them gain entry-level employment in the construction machine operator industry. It is a way to gain relevant heavy equipment work experience in a manner besides on-the-job training.
